 1. Qutub Minar

Standing 73 meters high, the Qutub Minar is the tallest tower in India, located in the famous Qutub in Delhi. The tower was built using a combination of Iranian and Afghani architectural styles.

Along the sides of the tower, you can see the scripture text and some carving inscriptions. Just next to the Qutub Minar is the Qawwat-us-Islam mosque - the first mosque built in India.

2. Safdarjung’s Tomb

Safdarjung's tomb is located inside the Lodhi Estate. The mausoleum was built in 1754 by Safdarjung's son Shuja-ud-daula as his late father's mausoleum.

The main features of Safdarjung's mausoleum are Moti Mahal, Badshah Pasanda and Jungle Mahal, small canopies, and the grand white marble dome that sits atop the mausoleum. There is a beautiful garden that crosses the tomb and some paths where one can enjoy the trek.

3. India Gate

Situated in the heart of the city, the India Gate memorial was built by Edward Lutyens in honor of all Indian and British soldiers who died during World War I.

Next to India Gate, there is another memorial named Amar Jawan Jyoti which was built to honor the Indian soldiers of Indo-Pak war of 1971.

4. Red Fort (Lal Qila)

The Red Fort or Red Fort is synonymous with the Mughal Empire in Delhi. Constructed entirely from red sandstone, this fort was built using floral motifs and calligraphy on the walls.

Shaped like an octagon, the fort was built in 1638 by Shah Jahan. This site has been given the status of World Heritage Site by UNESCO and it is the place of freedom speech of Indian Prime Minister.

5. Purana Qila

The Purana Fort is an old fort built by Sher Shah Suri, a former Afghan king. This fort is famous for its symmetrical, two-storied gates made entirely of red sandstone.

Another notable scene in the Purana Fort is the colorful marble and beautiful stones that adorn the main gate of the fort. There are many pavilions and grand balconies that add to the grandeur of the fort.
