Elon Musk Fires Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal

Elon Musk took control of Twitter late on Thursday after concluding the transaction. One of his first acts as the microblogging site's owner was to fire key employees, including the CEO Parag Agrawal and the head for legal, public policy, trust, and safety at Twitter, Vijaya Gadde.

According to reports in the Washington Post and CNBC, Parag Agrawal has been fired from his job with the organisation. Agrawal succeeded Jack Dorsey, the company's co-founder, as CEO last November after being appointed to the position. Even when he owned the bulk of the company, Elon publicly criticised the management (9 per cent).

On that day, Musk visited the company's San Francisco offices and changed his Twitter handle to Chief Twit. He arrived at Twitter HQ holding a sink from the bathroom and a placard that said, "Entering Twitter HQ - let that sink in! ”

Musk also visited the office of a Twitter employee. Later, he also published a letter outlining the rationale behind his purchase of Twitter and his future goals for the service.

Elon Musk altered his bio to read "Chief Twit" after visiting the Twitter offices. Then he said in a letter for Twitter advertisers that he had bought Twitter because society's future required a "shared digital town square." There is currently a significant risk that far-right and far-left echo chambers on social media will spread more hate and split our society.

Elon Musk wrote, "I did it to try to serve humanity, whom I love. I didn't do it because it would be simple. I didn't do it to make more money.

Since the merger was revealed in April, Twitter staff have been preparing for layoffs, and Musk mentioned the concept of cost reductions to banking partners when he was initially raising money for the deal. According to a person familiar with the situation earlier this month, Musk informed some prospective investors that he expects to double Twitter's income within three years and plans to reduce 75% of the company's personnel, which currently numbers approximately 7,500.

According to those familiar with the situation, when Musk visited Twitter's headquarters on Wednesday, he told employees that he did not intend to fire 75% of the workforce after taking over the firm.
